Italy Ski Trip 2026
Catch the Olympic Spirit
February 14–21, 2026 | $2,800 per person, double occupancy
Bring your ski legs and your best Olympic cheer because this is not your average winter getaway. Join Max for the Italy Ski Trip 2026, a week of snow, laughter, and pure Dolomite magic. We’ll be calling the family-owned Hotel Post in San Candido home, a picture-perfect alpine village where cobblestones, cappuccinos, and mountain views collide. By day, you can glide through the Dolomiti Superski slopes or sip spritzes in the sun, and by night, we’ll gather over cozy dinners that taste like Italy itself. And just when you think it can’t get any better, remember we’re only 40 minutes from Cortina d’Ampezzo, the beating heart of the 2026 Winter Olympics. Seven nights of skiing, eating, cheering, and celebrating life the Italian way — it’s basically the gold medal of vacations.
Your Home for the Week: Hotel Post
We’ll spend 7 nights at the beautiful, family-owned Hotel Post, where tradition meets comfort in the heart of San Candido. This is one of those places where the welcome feels personal, the details are thoughtful, and the mountain charm is real. After a day in the crisp Dolomite air, you’ll return to warmth, laughter, and a hotel that feels like it was built just for skiers like us.
And because no Italian escape would be complete without food, your breakfast and dinner are included daily. Think mornings that begin with rich coffee and flaky pastries, and evenings with hearty alpine meals that set the tone for stories, wine, and maybe a little laughter around the table with the group.
Hotel Post Highlights
Daily breakfast and dinner included: hearty alpine mornings and relaxed Italian evenings.
Central location: steps from ski lifts in San Candido.
Perfect balance: close to the Olympic buzz in Cortina, yet peaceful enough to soak in village life.
Why San Candido?
San Candido (also known as Innichen) is the perfect mix of postcard-pretty village and ski town energy. Nestled in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage site, it offers stunning views, easy access to lifts, and a welcoming vibe that’s less crowded than the big-name resorts.
And here’s the kicker: you’re only 40 minutes from Cortina, the glamorous alpine hub where Olympic events will unfold. That means you get the best of both worlds — the peaceful rhythm of a traditional village, with the Olympic spirit buzzing just next door.
Ski, Cheer, Repeat
This week is about more than skiing, it’s about catching the Olympic Spirit. Imagine waking up to snow-dusted rooftops, skiing the Dolomite slopes, and knowing the world’s best athletes are competing just a short drive away. Whether you’re carving turns on the local mountains or soaking up the festive atmosphere, every day will feel like you’re part of something bigger.

Wander through stone terraces, temples, and ceremonial spaces, all shrouded in a misty aura that evokes its long-lost secrets.
Whether you’re photographing the classic view from the Sun Gate or feeling the energy of the Sacred Rock, Machu Picchu is a once-in-a-lifetime destination that stirs the soul and imagination. A professionally guided tour ensures you don’t miss its deeper meaning and design.
Pacaya Samiria National Reserve – The Amazon’s Green Heart
Covering over 8,000 square miles of protected Amazon floodplain, the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is one of the most biodiverse areas on Earth. Accessible only by boat, it’s a sanctuary for wildlife lovers, with pink river dolphins, giant otters, caimans, macaws, and hundreds of other species thriving in its flooded forests and winding waterways.
Traveling here aboard La Perla offers immersive access to this untamed paradise. Canoe rides, jungle walks, and twilight excursions bring you face to face with rare and elusive creatures, many seen nowhere else in the world.
Yanayacu de Pucate – Canoes, Dolphins & Crystal Waters
Nestled within the Pacaya Samiria Reserve, Yanayacu de Pucate is famed for its glassy blackwater channels and frequent sightings of pink river dolphins. Paddle in a traditional canoe through a dreamlike landscape of mirror-like waters reflecting jungle trees and drifting clouds.
Whether you’re dipping into the warm, clean river for a swim or quietly gliding past wildlife in a canoe, this part of the Amazon feels.
Cusco – The Inca Capital, Still Beating
Once the capital of the mighty Inca Empire, Cusco is a vibrant fusion of Andean heritage and colonial charm. Ancient stone walls line cobblestone streets, while colorful markets buzz with energy. From the massive stones of Sacsayhuamán to the sacred ruins of Qenqo and Tambomachay, Cusco’s outskirts offer archaeological wonders that rival Machu Picchu itself.
In the city center, marvel at the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), once covered in gold, and the imposing Cusco Cathedral, rich with indigenous symbolism hidden in its Spanish colonial architecture. Every corner of Cusco tells a story, and most are unexpected.
San Regis – Meet the Shaman
Far from city lights, the indigenous community of San Regis opens a doorway into the spiritual traditions of the Amazon. Here, you’ll meet a local shaman, a respected elder who shares ancestral knowledge about healing plants, rituals, and the worldview that shapes life in the jungle.
With the help of your guide as translator, you’ll witness a traditional blessing ceremony and take part in planting a tree, a living memory of your time in this sacred space. It’s a moment of connection that travelers remember long after the cruise ends.
Iquitos – Gateway to the Amazon
Unlike anywhere else in Peru, Iquitos is the largest city in the world inaccessible by road. Reachable only by air or river, this colorful riverfront city buzzes with tuk-tuks, colonial architecture, floating markets, and jungle energy. It’s here that your Amazon adventure begins.
Before boarding your cruise, explore historic landmarks like the Iron House (designed by Eiffel), local markets brimming with jungle produce, and vibrant street life that tells of Iquitos’ rubber boom past and its deep connection to the river.
Amazon Forever Bio Park – The Manatee Rescue Center
A short stop with a powerful impact, the Amazon Forever Bio Park (also known as the Manatee Rescue Center) offers a rare chance to see endangered Amazonian manatees up close. Rescued as orphaned calves or from illegal captivity, these gentle giants are rehabilitated by a team of biologists and volunteers.
Visitors can observe feeding sessions, learn about conservation efforts, and witness how science and compassion come together in the fight to preserve Amazonian biodiversity. It’s a meaningful and memorable final stop before departing Peru.
ITINERARY
Day 2 - May 20, 2026: Lima - Cusco
Meals: Breakfast
Private Excursion | Half-Day Lima City Tour
Lima City Sightseeing and Cultural Tour
Your exploration of Lima begins with a brief stop at the Huaca Pucllana Archaeological Site, a pre-Inca ceremonial center located in the heart of the city. From there, we’ll continue to Lima’s historic center, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We’ll visit the Plaza de Armas (Main Square), surrounded by stunning colonial and Republican-era buildings, many adorned with ornate wooden balconies. Notable landmarks around the square include:
- The Government Palace
- Lima Cathedral
- The Archbishop's Palace of Lima
- The Municipal Palace
- The Palace of the Union
Next, we’ll walk just one block to the iconic Convent of San Francisco, founded in the 1530s and completed in 1766. Officially blessed in 1673, it wasn’t fully completed until 1774 and has withstood several major earthquakes throughout its history.
Inside, you’ll find the San Francisco Library, housing over 25,000 books in Spanish, English, and Quechua, dating from the 16th to 20th centuries. Due to their fragile condition, many of these books, including a 1571 edition of the Bible, can only be handled by Franciscan monks.
The convent is built around a serene central garden filled with mango and lucuma trees. Above the intricate tile work, you may spot a series of murals depicting the life of St. Francis of Assisi. While some have been restored, others remain partially damaged for unknown reasons, adding to the site’s mystery.
As you explore the cloisters, you’ll find rooms filled with artistic treasures — including ceiling frescoes, a golden centerpiece of angels, flowers, and fruit, and Diego de la Puerta’s 1696 painting of The Last Supper featuring a uniquely Peruvian twist: guinea pigs and potatoes on the table.
To conclude the visit, descend into the church’s foundations to explore the Lima catacombs — the largest in the city. Following Spanish colonial burial customs, over 25,000 people were interred here until 1808. The catacombs were later forgotten and only rediscovered in 1947. Today, visitors can view the bone arrangements, carefully organized into haunting geometric patterns.
.After the city tour in the morning, the group will be transferred to the airport to take their flight to Cusco (flight to Cuzco included in trip price).
Upon arrival in Cusco, private transportation to your hotel, where you will spend the night.
Dinner on your own so you can start getting used to the altitude at your own pace.
Overnight: CUSCO - Costa del Sol Wyndham Cusco. Accommodation in A Standard Room. https://www.costadelsolperu.com/en/hotels/costa-del-sol-wyndham-cusco-hotel/
Day 3 - May 21, 2026: Cusco
Meals: Breakfast
Private Excursion | Half-Day Cusco City Tour (Center)
Your day in Cusco begins with a visit to the impressive Inca fortress of Sacsayhuamán, perched on a hill overlooking the city. This awe-inspiring site showcases some of the finest Inca stonework, with massive boulders expertly carved and fitted together without mortar, a true testament to ancient engineering.
Next, we continue uphill to Qenqo, one of the most mysterious and spiritual Inca sites. Its name in Quechua means “labyrinth” or “zigzag,” and the site offers a blend of ritual spaces, carved stone chambers, and tunnels, along with beautiful panoramic views of Cusco.
Our journey continues to the Tambomachay Archaeological Complex, believed by some to have functioned as an Incan spa. Here, you’ll see a sophisticated system of aqueducts, canals, and waterfalls flowing through terraced stone, highlighting the Incas’ mastery of hydraulic engineering.
Then we head back to the city to explore Koricancha, once the most sacred temple in the Inca Empire, dedicated to the Sun God. Once adorned with gold-covered walls and life-sized statues of animals and plants made from pure gold and silver, the temple was later stripped by Spanish conquistadors. Today, it remains a remarkable structure, partially preserved beneath the Church of Santo Domingo, built atop its foundations. Your guide will help uncover its fascinating details, many of which go unnoticed without expert insight.
Our final stop is the Cusco Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas, built between 1560 and 1654 over an ancient Inca temple. This grand cathedral houses priceless works from the Cusco School of Art, and its gold- and silver-covered altar and pulpit are stunning examples of colonial religious architecture. Look closely and you’ll notice subtle indigenous symbolism, such as a jaguar’s head carved into the doors, a quiet act of resistance by the native artisans who built it.
Your guide will then bid you farewell, offering restaurant recommendations for a delicious local meal (not included) or providing directions back to your hotel.
Total trekking distance: 3 km (1 hour approx).
Highest altitude: 3,750 m (12,303 ft). Lowest Altitude: 3,400 m (11,154 ft).

That evening, enjoy a three-course Irish dinner and traditional music and dance show at Taylor’s Three Rock.
Enjoy a free day in Dublin or join us for some optional tours (pricing TBA)
OPTIONAL ONE: This morning, visit Trinity College & Book of Kells
Trinity was founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth 1st on grounds confiscated from an Augustinian priory and is the oldest university in Ireland. The Campanile, erected in 1852, was built on what is believed to be the centre of the monastery. Built to further the education of the ruling Anglo-Irish families, restrictions were imposed to prevent Catholics from attending courses. These restrictions were not fully lifted until the 1970s. Trinity, however, admitted women in 1902, earlier than most British universities. Most of the main buildings off the main square were built during the Georgian period, some of which replaced older buildings. Within its walls, visitors will be able to admire Parliament Square and its 18th-century edifices. Trinity College has had many famous students, such as Jonathan Swift and Samuel Beckett, who later became a lecturer in French at the university. The inter-denominational Church is very much worth a visit.
OPTIONAL TWO: Visit Jameson Distillery Bow St.
The Jameson Distillery Bow Street in Smithfield village is located in the heart of Dublin city centre. This old barley storehouse, once the centre of distilling in Dublin, was renovated in 1998 and converted into a museum where all the secrets of Irish whiskey’s distillation will be revealed. An audio-visual show will introduce the history of this spirit and it is followed by a guided visit which will take visitors through the various stages of whiskey distilling from grain intake to malting, mashing, fermentation, distillation, maturation, and finally bottling. The visit culminates in the Jameson bar with an opportunity for all to taste the signature Jameson drink. During the visit, a number of volunteers are selected to take part in a tasting session to compare a Jameson whiskey with a Scottish whisky and an American bourbon. Participants will receive a diploma for their achievement. Other facilities include the Distillery Gift Shop and public bar.
This afternoon, visit the Guinness Storehouse
The Guinness Brewery in Dublin is Europe’s largest stout-producing brewery and home to the Guinness Storehouse. Opened in 1904, the Storehouse was an operational plant for fermenting and storing Guinness. Today it houses a very fine exhibition dedicated to the Guinness story. Visitors will discover what goes into the making a pint of Guinness – the ingredients, the brewing process, the time, the craft, and the passion. The exhibition shows how the brew has been marketed and how it is today sold in over 150 countries. Once the tour has finished, the guest is invited to the Gravity Bar to enjoy their pint of Guinness. Regular demonstrations on the art of pulling a pint of Guinness also take place in the Storehouse. Launched on the fifth floor in 2011, “Five” at Guinness Storehouse, includes a small replica authentic Irish Bar, an 18th-century inspired Brewers Dining Hall, and a restaurant named Gilroy’s where guests enjoy a Guinness gastronomical experience driven entirely by the Irish tradition of wholesome local produce. Menus include local foods such as Ardsallagh goat’s cheese, Irish mussels from Carlingford and the Waterford Blaas bread supplied by MD Bakery in Waterford. This area will host from time to time live cooking demonstrations using Guinness in the recipe and it includes an interactive recipe sharing bank that allows visitors to take Guinness recipe cards home.
In the evening, refresh in your hotel before enjoying travelling to Taylors for a rip-roaring night of traditional Irish song and dance, accompanied by a great selection of quality Irish food to delight the palate. The resident band and professional Irish dancers provide breathtaking performances for their audience and never fail to entertain. The night will begin with a delicious traditional four-course Irish dinner, including an Irish coffee, followed by the traditional Irish band accompanied by a cast of professional Irish dancers. Entertained by the likes of The Mighty Ghosts of Erin, Coscan, or Doc Savage, guests are truly in for a good night.
