Destination & Resorts NewsAspen/Snowmass celebrates the opening
of The Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center Snowmass has undergone a renaissance in the last two years with on-mountain and ski area facility improvements, totaling over $45 million (including summer 2007). Improvements include the Village Express six-pack lift and Sky Cab gondola in the 2005-2006 season and the new Elk Camp Gondola for the 2006-2007 season. For the 2007-2008 season the new Elk Camp Meadows beginner's area will debut at the top of the Elk Camp Gondola with a new quad chair, two new surface lifts and six acres of terrain exclusively dedicated to beginners. The entire base village project is slated for completion in 2011. Snow Storms hit Whistler Blackcomb - Early Opening Considered
for Powder Hungry Skiers and Snowboarders Operations crews and all front line staff are going full steam ahead to prepare the mountains for the upcoming winter season. Official opening day is November 22 but with outstanding snowfall this week an early opening is being considered.
