Foreign Travel Deals On a Weak Dollar
Wall Street Journal (04/01/2007) - By Darren Everson
Mont
Tremblant in the eastern Canadian province of Quebec or Banff
in Alberta out West are popular spots, says Daniela Gugliotta,
vice president of sales and marketing for Alpine Adventures/SkiEurope,
which books ski trips to Canada, Europe and the U.S. Six-day,
three-resort adult lift passes in Banff cost $432 Canadian (roughly
$369 U.S.) in peak season (Jan. 27-Feb. 15 and Feb. 24-April 8);
a comparable six-day Silver Passport in Park City, Utah, is $408.
European bang for your buck
USA Today (12/7/2006) - By Laura Bly
And though unusually warm weather has forced some resorts
to delay their openings this winter, a European ski vacation can
still be less expensive than its U.S. counterpart, says Tim Leffel,
author of Make Your Travel Dollars Worth a Fortune. A seven-night
package from New York to Zermatt, Switzerland, in January, including
airfare, three-star hotel, lift tickets, breakfast and dinner,
costs $1,676 a person with taxes through Alpine Adventures/SkiEurope;
it sells a week in Aspen with the same components for $1,897.
