Charley comes from Montana and brings to Alpine Adventures a lifetime of being around the hospitality industry.

He first skied Montana's Big Mountain at the age of six. While growing up on the hill (now called Whitefish Mountain Resort), he skied on the team with future Gold Medalist and Olympian Tommy Moe and a slew of other great skiers he remains friends with.

His father had restaurants and he watched the adults run a resort town that has become a top-notch summer and winter destination.

Several years spent away from his hometown began with study at the University of Montana journalism school. A hiatus of a semester took him to Lugano, Switzerland and academic travel. It was this experience that ignited a passion for seeing how others live and approach life.

After being the part owner of the Missoula Independent, Charley became an editor at Montana Living magazine. It was during those years that he came into contact with people involved in just about every type of recreation activity from ice climbing to golf. Ask him about anything in Montana. He'll let you know.

An opportunity to be Big Mountain's activity director brought him back to his home mountain. For the past seven years, the seasonal work removed him from the year-long grind of hitting deadlines and allowed him to take many long vacations in Europe and, recently, in South America.
